Dressing, Balsamic Vinaigrette

This is another one of Kathleen Snyder's recipes from her Delish-Dish website.


3 tablespoons aged Balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon finely diced shallot
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper


In a small bowl, mix the vinegar, shallot, dijon and syrup until well blended. Slowly drizzle the olive oil into the bowl while whisking until mixture is emulsified. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Conversely, you can add all of the ingredients to a small jar and shake until thoroughly mixed.
