Blackberry or Raspberry Crumble


Berry Mixture

  • 6 cups fresh blackberries or raspberries
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

Crumble Topping

  • 2/3 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp table salt


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, gently combine blackberries or raspberries, sugar and all-purpose flour. Transfer to an 8 x 8 baking dish.
  3. For the crumble topping, combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and work together with your hands until the ingredients resemble a crumble.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the blackberry or raspberry mixture. Bake crumble until the the topping is golden brown and blackberries or raspberries are bubbling, about 40 minutes. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature, with ice cream if desired.
