Sautéed Broccoli with Sesame Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 lb firm tofu
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 21 Tbsp sesame oil plus more for skillet
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1 lb broccoli

Directions

  • Combine salt, pepper, flour, red pepper flakes, garlic and onion powder in a large bowl. Slice tofu into slices and squeeze out excess water. Then cut the tofu into 1 inch pieces. Add tofu to bowl and toss well. Add soy sauce, sesame oil and honey and stir to coat. Set aside. (May do this hours ahead of time, store in refrigerator.)
  • Cut broccoli into small florets. Add more sesame oil to a large frying pan. Add broccoli and cook until medium crisp. Remove broccoli from pan and keep warm.
  • Heat more sesame oil in the pan and over medium-high heat, cook tofu, stirring occasionally until cooked thru, about 5 minutes. Add broccoli, mix together and cook an additional 3-4 minutes. Serve with brown rice and a salad.
